Meet the Team

Rachel Palmquist, the senior director of Sales and Marketing at The Palms at La Quinta, began her senior living career with ISL over five years ago. In her senior director position, she gets to travel across the nation to mentor and make an impact in other ISL communities. Rachel holds a degree in merchandise marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and began her sales career in fashion distribution before making the switch to senior living, which she finds more rewarding. Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends and at church.

Lisa Stanford brings over two decades of experience in the customer service and billing industries to the position of Business Office director. Lisa enjoys working with numbers, has a strong attention to detail and is dedicated to ensuring that residents have the best possible experience at The Palms at La Quinta.  

Lisa grew up in Imperial Valley and moved to the Coachella Valley in 2004. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, swimming, camping, traveling, and attending local activities and events.  

Jennee Cunningham has worked in senior health care since 2003, and has experience in skilled nursing, case and health information management, and nursing education. As Resident Care director, she enjoys the opportunity to show how assisted living allows residents to receive support to maintain their independence and dignity, and to give their families the peace of mind that they are well cared for in their home here at The Palms at La Quinta.  

Jennee holds degrees in gerontology, social and behavioral science, sociology, and vocational nursing. Jennee, a Southern California native, is an avid Angels baseball fan and enjoys spending time with her two adult children and her Chihuahua, Gatsby.  

Jose Gonzalez, the Culinary Services director at The Palms at La Quinta, has over 25 years of culinary experience in high-end senior living communities. He places special importance on presentation, quality, nutrition and a fantastic culinary experience through the Elevate^® dining program. Jose has always had a unique passion for food and became interested in culinary arts after cooking with his mother.  

In his free time, Jose enjoys riding motorcycles, cycle hiking and spending time with his family.  

Amber Legowski began her career with seniors in 2012, eventually working her way up to the role of Vibrant Life^® director in 2017. She takes pride in providing residents with the resources and meaningful programming they need to be the best version of themselves.  

Amber is a certified dementia care practitioner and Alzheimer’s disease educator and trainer. She is currently studying to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology.  

Marisela Fuentes began working in health care in 2008 and has since gained experience working as a medical assistant, phlebotomist and nurse before eventually becoming a Resident Care coordinator in 2021. Marisela loves helping residents and their families obtain the best possible care, and she never forgets her roots in the food and beverage industry; from time to time, you might catch her serving food during mealtimes!  

Born and raised in Mexicali, Marisela enjoys spending her free time with her three children and her mother.  

Jonathan Garcia, the Building Services director at The Palms at La Quinta, has been working in senior living maintenance since 2010. He is HVAC-certified and up to date on the latest engineering trends and developments. His passion for engineering and repairing objects dates back to early childhood.  

When he’s not at work, Jonathan can be found riding on his self-built electric bike, bowling or spending time with his family.
